Basic SEO scanning
Opening the Side Panel, switching tabs, or navigating reads the active tab ID and URL to match an in-memory report; this does not scan page content. When you click Scan current page, Chrome asks for access to that site if needed. After approval, the local scan reads metadata, headings, image attributes, structured data and visible text for counts.
Optional AI Fix
AI Fix is optional. Only when you request a supported title or meta description suggestion does the extension send the page URL, title, meta description, H1, selected issue details and related context to the SEO Copilot backend and DeepSeek; not the full page body.
Storage and rate limits
The extension keeps reports in Side Panel memory and stores a deviceId and installation and first-use timestamps in chrome.storage.local. The backend uses deviceId and a hashed IP for Upstash rate limits. The reviewed backend code does not store raw page context; host and provider retention is not verified.
Extension Mixpanel events include actions, score and issue counts and SDK defaults such as the internal extension-page URL, not the scanned site URL in custom event fields. Website Mixpanel events include the website URL, page path and referrer. Mixpanel uses a browser-local identifier. No account is needed for a basic audit. See the data map for details. data map.
What we do not do
- We do not read cookies, passwords, payment details, or unrelated tabs.
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
- We do not modify websites automatically.
- We do not guarantee search rankings.
